What’s the difference between Beta and ARC readers?
A Beta Reader will read a work of fiction before it is published in order to mark errors and suggest improvements, typically without receiving payment. Their job is to provide developmental feedback, such as identifing plot holes, weak scenes or characters, and inconsistencies, and to provide feedback on how satisfying the book is from a reader’s perspective.
An ARC Reader receives a free, pre-publication version of a book (Advance Reader Copy) and, in exchange for reading it early, they post an honest review upon or around the book's release date. Their role is to generate early reviews on sites like Goodreads, Amazon, BookTok.
